My Date Night at Kashmiri Aroma

Last weekend, despite the teatox diet, I decided to head out into Halifax with my boyfriend for a spot of tea as it was our anniversary. Kashmiri Aroma opened in Halifax last Autumn and as I'd been to the one in Wakefield previously, I was excited to visit their latest venue.

Located in Halifax Town Centre, opposite the Broad Street Plaza complex, Kashmiri Aroma has added a new flavour to those already available in the area.

As we had not made a reservation, we headed into town quite early and were seated a lovely window table at the back of the restaurant. Along the back wall there is sumptuous silver grey bench seat, furnished with bright cushions and the rest of the decor pretty much follows this modern feel.

The staff were really attentive, fetching out a pickle tray and poppadoms with our drinks and taking our order as soon as we were ready. Which to be honest took a while as the menu there is amazing.

As there was such a selection available we decided to share the dishes and chose our favourite Chicken Tikka & Paneer Pakora starters which were £3.50 each. Both were served with a salad and lime pickle garnish and were perfectly cooked and presented.

Next up we chose Saag Gosht & Chicken Tikka Balti (both £8.20) with Pilau Rice and both a plain and a cheese and onion naan bread. What a feast. The Saag Gosht was amazing and it the first time I have had anything over than a Chicken or Vegetarian curry. The Lamb was so tender that it flaked when you put it on your fork and this tenderness combined with the thick spinach sauce tasted fantastic. The Chicken Tikka Balti was not overly spicy but was still very flavoursome, they definitely struck the perfect taste balance with this one. Neither were off-puttingly greasy and they didn't skimp on the meat.

The rice was not over seasoned or dry and the naan breads were blanketed by a napkin which kept them warm and soaked up any excess oil.

At the end we definitely couldn't face a dessert.

Kashmiri Aroma have four locations in Yorkshire (Ilkley, Wakefield, Halifax & Sheffield) and I would definitely recommend a visit if you get the chance as I couldn't fault the service or food on my visit.

To find out more about Kashmiri Aroma or to take a look at their menu have a look at their website, where you can also book a table.

Enjoy
