My New Year Teatox with Bootea ... The Results

This is it folks. On Wednesday I finished my 14 day Bootea Teatox and it's time to see if this style of detox really works. For the first 14 days of the year I invested time and money into improving my health and making this year my fittest and strongest yet. Here's what I've been doing and how I've benefitted as a result.

If you haven't read my introduction to the '14 Day Bootea Teatox'  make sure you take a look to see why I did this and find out about the teatox itself.

I wasn't expecting miracles from the teatox, but more of a kickstart to the year and a good way to get the festive season out of my system. I cut out snacking, alcohol and high calorie meals for the duration of the teatox, ensured I ate 3 meals a day, drank plenty of water as opposed to sugar ladened pop and most importantly of all I got active again.

In addition to the supply of the cute little hand made tea bags, you can find an eating plan on the Bootea website which gave me some meal inspiration. I varied meals as much as I could so that I didn't get bored and ensured that I still got a bit of variety. Breakfasts consisted of either porridge, toast or smoothies, lunches of salads or quinoa and salmon and (although they advise you to go meat free for 14 days there is no way I could do that) chicken based evening meals.

I haven't deprived myself, I've had meals out but chosen more wisely and on occasions where I've wanted pop I've gone for slimline tonic water or even sparkling water on a lunch time instead of diet coke.

I've not hit the gym as hard as I would have liked to but I have managed a few sessions and the biggest benefit that I felt of doing this teatox is that I felt more energised and less bloated that I do normally. But one thing I have done is walked more - taking the stairs instead of the lift and used my lunch breaks to have a walk.

So how have I done?

I don't like to get too hung up on the figures but I think in this instance they have been really useful to measure the progress that I have made. On January 1st I weighed in at 63.8kg and on the 14th I was 63kg which I think is a fab start to the year. My body fat and mass percentages have gone down and I've lost 2 inches from my waist and hips.

I have been really impressed with the Bootea teatox, the teas taste wonderful and it has definitely spurred me on to stay active and healthy. Whilst the evening teas can have a bit of an unpleasant effect, the further into the two weeks you get, the less of an effect they have and this to me showed that they had done some good.

I would definitely recommend trying this if you want a little helping hand this January and for under £20 I think the system offers great value. Well done Bootea!
