My Product Test - Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm

Sorry, I know I am super late to the party when it comes to this one but I've had this in my collection for ages now and never really bothered to try it out properly. I've never used Clinique makeup before, just their skincare ranges, so I thought I'd give it a go starting with this.

WORDS & IMAGERY BY EMMA HARRISON

My new found love for matte lip products tends to lead to dry, flaky lips after a while and so I wanted to wear something for work that was a little more nourishing and hydrating instead. Step forward Clinique.

I've heard really good things about their Chubby Stick range and I received this sample months ago with a magazine (so long ago I couldn't tell you which) and it has been in my box of lip products ever since. The sleek and durable packaging keeps the balm safe when tossed in my handbag in a morning and it is easy enough to apply straight from the bullet.

As opposed to a gloss or lipstick the Clinique Chubby Stick is labelled as a moisturising lip colour balm and doubles up as a rejuvenating lip treatment when used daily. As I mentioned, I've been wearing matte products a lot recently and this has definitely helped to re hydrate, soften and soothe my dry, cracked lips.

The colour above is the violet based 'Super Strawberry' and one of the things I really like about this product is that the colour is very sheer so it is perfect for those days where you want a barely there look as it leaves just a hint of colour and shine on the lips. Oh and with 16 colours in the range there is sure to be one to suit everyone and I can't wait to build up my collection.

At £17.00 some people may be put off by the price tag but I would say don't be because it really is a great product and worth every penny.

What is your go-to lip product for lazy days? Let me know!

Enjoy
