The Christmas Party Edit

This weekend sees the start of one of the Christmas Party season and I'm fairly sure that at some point over the next few weeks we will all be pulling on our gladrags and sparkle as we celebrate the year's successes with our family, friends and loved ones.

In preparation for the party season I decided to have a look through the pages and pages of glitter and sequins currently on the ASOS website to get some outfit ideas as this year I am determined to not buy anything new and wear something from the archives instead. But as I searched through 100's of items in their party section my fingers got twitchy and well I thought I best share some of the items that ended up on my wish list whilst I was there!

Let's start with this pale leather Obi Belt from Danish brand Pieces. I have loved Obi Belts since the days of Girls Aloud but after buying one and realising you needed a waist to pull them off which until recently I haven't really had (more the figure of a chubby stick than an hour glass) but it was love at first sight with this. Belts are a great way to spice up an old outfit if you're not investing in a new outfit or add a little something, something to a plain outfit.

One of the things I love about ASOS the most is the great selection of brands and sores they have on the site and the fact that River Island is on there is brilliant as they have always been one of my go to stores for party wear. This Body Con dress allows you to cover up and stay warm, yet still look amazing. I love the metallic thread and that the knit goes in contrasting directions! Pair this with a nice pair of heels and a clutch for a sassy party look.

As we live in good ol' Blighty, we have to expect that Christmas will be mainly cold with the potential for gale force winds and driving rain. Bearing this in mind we all need a good fur coat for party season and I picked a beige one up from Lipsy several years ago which is still going strong. This Vintage Faux Fur one from ASOS is gorgeous and will look just as good with your favourite jeans as it will over your LBD.

If you're heading out for food as well as dancing and drinks, swing dresses are a great option as they hide a multitude of sins, especially if you're prone to bloating. Boohoo are now on ASOS too and this Strappy Metallic Swing dress is so festive even Santa has it on his list this year!

Somedays are just not dress days and on those days we just need a pretty top, a pair of coated biker jeans and some killer heels. This Lipsy top has a sheer lace back making it uber sexy and a cute bow tie detail to the neckline.

You don't always need a new outfit, sometimes all you need is a new bag to update an outfit. Fringe detailing is so 2015 and this suede Clutch Bag is perfect to throw under your arm this season.

Last but not least is this killer Jumpsuit from the ASOS Red Carpet Collection that feels very Rita Ora-esque with its cage detailing to the side and embellishment. If you've been working hard this year show odd that back in this mink beauty and smile in the knowledge that it's 30% off too!

ASOS has some amazing items online at the moment with 30% off partywear too.

What are you wearing to your Christmas party this year? Have you got your eye on something new or revamping an old favourite? Let me know below and I will see you tomorrow for a VIDEO! Until then though x
