Centre Parcs at Whinfell Forest - Part 2

It's time to carry on my Center Parcs adventure this morning as there was simply just too much to fit in one post yesterday! So relaxed and refreshed from our evening in the spa, we were raring to go on day 2...

...And so after a hearty and warming porridge breakfast in our apartment, we headed up to the Outdoor Activity Centre to spend a little time on the Driving Range. I’m not a golfer, not in the slightest, but whenever I head to Center Parcs it’s one activity that is always high up on my list as I find it really relaxing and such good fun.

Another clear, crisp and bitterly cold day, we stayed at the range for a few hours before heading over to Starbucks for a Hot Chocolate (and a Gluten free brownie, be still my beating heart) before heading off for a walk and a little bird spotting. By the time we arrived back at our apartment it was mid-afternoon and the snow clouds had gathered over the forest. The perfect time to head to the Sub-Tropical Paradise for a spot of lunch and lounging.

The Canopy Cafe serves a host of guilty treats such as Burgers and Hot Dogs to you poolside; nothing too fancy, just quick honest food. After a BBQ Pulled Pork Dog and a whole issue of Cosmo, we realised that it was snowing heavily outside so of course we excitedly headed to the outdoor pool and Canyon Ride to enjoy it. After throwing ourselves down the slide a few times (until we went a little dizzy in fact) we realised it was fast approaching tea time. Time flies when you’re having fun doesn’t it!

We didn’t really fancy heading out for tea that night, it was rather slippery under foot, instead opting to use the sites Dining In service after a Lush bath (The Experimenter, it's love) and enjoy a few quiet drinks and The Voice UK. The Dining In service offers half hour delivery slots throughout the evening and we only had to wait just over an hour for our takeaway which is no different to at home. Our delivery man checked our order off for us and made sure we were happy before he left us to it and we enjoyed a rather yummy Chicken Tikka Mekhani & Pilau Rice in our little dining area.

It wasn’t long before we fell asleep after that, exhausted from the increased amount of walking and fun in the pool.

Sunday’s are a day designed to take it easy and so I did a little shopping Sportique (picking up a Superdry top I have had my eye on for months), enjoyed a large cup of Peppermint Tea in Starbucks and a long walk around the village before ordering ourselves a little lunch in Dexters Kitchen (Sweet Potato over regular fries every time, am I right?) and walking the long way back to the apartment to make sure we got a few extra steps in (slight FitBit addiction going on right now guys). We then headed back to the Village Centre to enjoy a few more hours in the Sub-Tropical Paradise, playing on the Canyon Ride until we felt ill again.

For our last night at the village we headed to Hucks, their American diner and whilst Paul ordered what looked like the most amazing Chicken Fajitas (I’m assured they tasted as good as they looked), I opted for a Piggy Burger (a delicious steak burger topped with BBQ Pulled Pork, my weakness) and tried to make myself feel better by asking for it without bread and with Sweet Potato Fries as opposed to regular ones. Our waiter was really helpful and chatty, making us feel welcomed and our food was served quite quickly which was good because my tumbly was rumbly!

That night we packed our cases ready to check out the next morning but the fun wasn’t over for me there, that’s just in another post next weekend because this one is epic enough already!
