New Year, New Goals



Happy New Year!!! So whilst today a few of you may have woken with a fuzzy head, the remnants of last night's makeup around your eyes and the biggest bacon butty craving ever... I decided that I wanted to welcome the arrival of 2016 in with a clear head and focus...

...Somewhere along the way I've learned that it is better to write your goals, dreams and resolutions down as opposed to leaving them locked away in the far corners of my mind. Last year I promised myself that;

I would become more of a morning person, which I think I can say I did. During the summer months this year I started to get up earlier, workout before work and leave myself more time for me in the evenings. WInter is a little harder, but I still get up earlier than I used to do.

I would be more organised and although it has taken a lot of time and trial and error I feel as though I am finally getting there with this one. A diary is a great thing to have and to use and Google Calendar has become my best friend for content planning.

I wanted to be fitter, faster and stronger and I pleased to say that I am, however, over the course of the year my priorities have changed and I am now aiming to be strong and not skinny. Just yesterday I managed to comfortably increase my Bench Press weight and boy am I feeling it today!

I wanted to be more adventurous and this is probably one that I'm not sure about, yes I've tried new things (ways to exercise, foods, restaurants) but I'm not sure if I've been adventurous as such?

I wanted to be more involved and this is something I feel I have accomplished; I've talked to more people, attended more events, worked on bigger projects and made new contacts and friends this year than ever before. I'm so proud of myself for coming out of my comfort zone and creating something for myself.

So what am I looking forward to achieving this year?

I'm going to continue to grow my site and social following - I've set myself the goal to double my stats over the next 12 months and noted down my target numbers in my phone.

I'm going to create more content that you guys love - do you prefer the healthy living & lifestyle posts or the beauty and fashion ones? What would YOU like to see more of in 2016, let me know!

I'm going to attend more events and meet more of you guys - attending events and talking to new people is something that really scares me so this will be a biggie for me.

I'm going to continue to become fitter, faster and stronger - as I said before, my priorities have changed this year, I'm no longer 100% concerned with how much I weigh, more how much fat I am carrying. I want to be able to lift more, sprint faster & be leaner by the end of 2016.

I'm going to make something of myself - whether this be a total change of focus or a refocus, this is the year that I will find myself.

I'm going to make more time for me - it's easy to get too caught up in the world of social media, especially when you're trying to raise your profile and people's awareness of what you do. So this year I will make sure that I make more time for me and those around me that I love and cherish.

So here's to 2016 a year of growth and development - it's time to teach this old dog some new tricks!
