Santa Baby

Hey Santa baby, I'd like to think I've been a pretty good girl this year and well if you're looking for ideas for what to slip under the tree for me this year I've come up with one or two for. In fact I reckon a few of my gal pals would like a few of these too...

My Winter Bucket List*

We have now well and truly said 'Au Revoir Autumn' and 'Welcomen Winter' here in the UK haven't we? It has been frickin' freezing this past week hasn't it, like snow is falling, pass me all the mulled wine kinda freezing!

Hiiting It

They (meaning the village elders of course) often say that 'a change is as good as a break' and even though I don't always think that that saying is particularly accurate in day-to-day life, I do think it makes sense when it comes to working out.

Social Media Vs IRL

Some days I envy the 'youth' of today and the fact that they have the world at their fingertips - my GCSE projects would have been so much better if I had had the wealth of the internet on my side! But on others I feel lucky that I grew up before the shit storm that is social media, life for me as a teen was hard enough!

20 Blogmas Post Ideas

It's early morning on December 1st and after having a rather civilised Christmas Party with the wonderful girls from Jet2 last night I'm feeling rather festive ... I'm also feeling slightly daunted by the lack of content I have planned in for December. How did Christmas come around so fast?

Gettin' Arty with Viking

Despite all my protests that it is still far too early for Christmas, I am slowly getting beginning to feel a little festive and get into the spirit of things. It really feels as though you can't escape it right now - the adverts have aired, the lights have been switched on and the Christmas albums have landed.

Putting on my Brave Pants

Do you ever talk yourself out of something? Things like that sequin dress that you bought on ASOS for a steal, only to send to the charity shop with the tags still attached years later or going to an event where you know nobody because you're afraid of being the one stood in a corner like a lemon? Me too, but recently I've discovered my brave-pants and guys, they're amazing...

I've Lost that Loving Feeling

I'm pretty sure that we’ve all had those days where we would rather do anything instead of exercising, you know the ones when you have CBA-itus. They're totally normal. But what about those times when you actually genuinely can't exercise, when you're injured, unwell or just simply snowed under and you have no time for routine.

I Don't See Me

Do you ever look in the mirror and fell like there's a different person staring back you? I know I do and I'm pretty certain that we all look very different in reality to the way that we think we look in the mirror.

48 Hours in London

There is something quite magical about the capital - maybe its stepping off the train at Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross, or the Mary Poppins-ness of Whitehall but I always feel strangely at home in the relatively alien city of London when I visit.

Hello November

Oh wowsers, hello November where the devil did you spring up from? I must admit I have been a little busy of late and the weather has been so glorious at times that your arrival has surprised me somewhat! But admittedly you are one of my favourite months of the year so I'm also a tad excited too.

Embracing Change*

Oh hey Autumn, you're really here now aren't ya? It's currently just gone half past four on the penultimate day of October, the sun has already set and I'm all curled up on the sofa, lamp on and my candle crackling away in the backgrounds.

Little Things*

If there is one thing that I love doing its people watching. Often when I find myself watching the people around me, I'm reminded of Hugh Grants monologue at the start of Love Actually where he rightly concedes that 'love actually is all around'.

Total Wellbean*

Hands up - who cannot get through the morning (let alone the day) without a good, strong coffee? I know I can't! Without coffee my emails make no sense, I'm unproductive and worst of all I'm a total grinch!

48 Hours in Loch Lomond

As much as we always try to head away somewhere new when we have the time, there a few places that we will continue to return to time and time again throughout our lives. Paul & I fell in love with Loch Lomond and the Western Highlands when we first visited back in 2007 and ten years later we decided to head back again.

Ain't Nothing But a Number

Age that is. I've never been bothered by my age, I've never feared growing up or getting older unlike many of my friends and I've always seen it as a positive as opposed to a negative. We can't be 19 forever you know...

The Best of Autumn*

I'm not the biggest fan of Autumn, but even I admit that I do like a good dose of the ol' Pumpkin Spice, crunchy leaves under foot and cosy afternoons snuggled up with a nice hot drink and a movie or two. The one thing I struggle with in Autumn is 'transitional' fashion and normally I end up getting it horribly wrong.

On The Go Skincare*

I'm pretty certain that my skin could be classed as 'sensitive' and as a result it is so important to treat my skin right whether I am at home or on the move. That's why I always carry a little army or skincare saviours in my gym bag and hand luggage, to keep my skin happy and healthy.

Be Happy

It recently dawned on me that I absolutely love 'happy' music - this may have dawned on me whilst listening to JT's Can't Stop This Feeling for the billionth time this year and no, I'm not sorry at all. But then it also dawned on me just how hard it can be to be happy in the world we live in today.

End of Year Goals

I don't want to jump on the old 'how the devil is it October already' bandwagon but I sort of am doing anyway because I cannot believe that it is now only about three months from my birthday again already. I mean there's a lot to do between now and then including Mr D's birthday, a holiday (or two) and of course, dare I say it, Christmas.

Why I'm Switching Off...

Being a blogger, having a good 'online presence' is something that I aspire to have. I think many of us do. However, sometimes striving to achieve this can have a massive effect on our IRL presence and that's why I'm determined to 'switch off' more.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

At 19.51pm on October 1st 2014 I clicked ‘publish’ on my first ever post here on HarmonyBlaze, it was a relatively meaty post at 580 words and all about my favourite subject; me. Three years on and my little corner of the internet has changed so much but I still love just as much, if not more.

At Home Upper Body Routine

Over the past few months I have totally mixed up my fitness regime both inside and outside of the gym, going from heavy cardio based sessions to ones that are more strength focused. Many of the workouts I do now can just as easily be done at home as in the gym too, making them perfect for busier days!

The Fitness Files | September '17

I'm writing this with a headful of regret. Last night I headed out with my work mates for a 'few' drinks and a curry after work and well lets just say that those few turned into plenty and then shapes were thrown on the dance floor ...

My Threads, Treads & Treats | September '17

It is now officially Autumn and as the leaves begin to fall, the temperatures plummet and we start to don our layers and coats once again - I'm still sat here not ready or willing to say goodbye to Summer. Don't get me wrong, I love Autumn, but there is still so much of Summer I haven't experienced.

Looking After Number One

I love the idea of self care - the idea of taking time out of our days to look after ourselves, to enrich our minds and nourish our bodies in whichever way we damn please. Making time in your diary to focus on yourself doesn't mean that you are being needy or selfish, far from it, it means that you want to protect the most important person in your life. You.

Slowing Down

I fully intended to take a few days off from blogging, after my little crisis of confidence over the weekend, and to recharge my batteries a little and take stock of the situation. But being the little worker bee that I am I can't seem to stay away.. so I guess that's my answer to the question of should I continue.

How NOT to book a Package Holiday

2017-how-to-not-book-a-package-holiday-img1

Whilst on holiday this year, I read an interesting piece online about the so-called death of the all-inclusive holiday. Although this was due to the UK 'claim culture' it got me thinking about the deals (or lack of) that Paul and I have taken advantage of over the past few years.

Fall In Love with Working Out

2017-fall-in-love-fitness-blogger-superdry

In today's modern society, we often find ourselves flitting about all over the place like little social butterflies and when prioritising, working out is quite often one of the things which we end up putting on the back burner.

Where to Wine & Dine in Faliraki

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Faliraki? I'm guess club 18-30 holidays, clubbing and loud nightlife, am I right? If you had asked me that question earlier this year I would have probably said the same, but not anymore.

Hello September...

I almost can't believe how fast we are approaching Autumn already (although you could be forgiven for thinking it has already arrived) and how many months have already passed us by. I'm not quite ready to give up on the idea of evening drinks outside and BBQs just yet but it's time to look forward to September.

It's OK

There seems to be a massive trend online at the moment where by people call others out because they have unfriended or unfollowed them and it isn't just within the blogging community either. But believe it or not it is totally OK to do this as you grow.

Its hard isn't it? Spending all those hours in the gym or working out at home only to feel as though you're making no progress with it all. I totally get how you are feeling, I've been there, I still am there but over the years I've learned to understand why.

Every Body's a Bikini Body*

Each Winter I spend months wishing away the days until I can shed the layers once again and enjoy long Summer days filled with Sun, Sea and ultimately a little self loathing too. You see as much as I love Summer, it is a huge test of my self-confidence.

Threads, Treads & Treats | July '17 Edit

As you may be able to guess from this post being a few days late, the end of July really did sneak up on me like a ninja! July started with long, sunny days in Rhodes that were filled with Pina Coladas, Gyros and not a great deal else and ended with even longer days in the office!

Hello August...

Well August, you're one of the months that we eagerly anticipate the most with your promise of evenings in the garden sipping Prosecco, barbecues and the sweet heat of the sun. This time two years ago I was settling down for a week in Sorrento but what does this August hold in store?

5 Things to Do or See in Rhodes

Although it may now seem like a distant dream and as though I have never been away, just a few weeks ago today I was waking up to my last full day on the Dodecanese Island of Rhodes. I've always wanted to go to Greece and I certainly wasn't disappointed during my time there.

Mindful Munching*

These days there seems to be a lot of hype regarding the subject of 'mindful eating' and it has become one of those on trend phases to say you are going through along with 'eating with intention' and 'intuitive eating'. But isn't this something that we just do naturally anyway?

I've always been a massive fan of those Chanel Espadrilles that I am pretty certain you will have seen adorning the feet of many a blogger over the past twelve months. However, there isn't a single part of me could ever justify £460 on a pair of rope soled shoes.
