On The Go Skincare*

I'm pretty certain that my skin could be classed as 'sensitive' and as a result it is so important to treat my skin right whether I am at home or on the move. That's why I always carry a little army or skincare saviours in my gym bag and hand luggage, to keep my skin happy and healthy.

Be Happy

It recently dawned on me that I absolutely love 'happy' music - this may have dawned on me whilst listening to JT's Can't Stop This Feeling for the billionth time this year and no, I'm not sorry at all. But then it also dawned on me just how hard it can be to be happy in the world we live in today.

End of Year Goals

I don't want to jump on the old 'how the devil is it October already' bandwagon but I sort of am doing anyway because I cannot believe that it is now only about three months from my birthday again already. I mean there's a lot to do between now and then including Mr D's birthday, a holiday (or two) and of course, dare I say it, Christmas.

Why I'm Switching Off...

Being a blogger, having a good 'online presence' is something that I aspire to have. I think many of us do. However, sometimes striving to achieve this can have a massive effect on our IRL presence and that's why I'm determined to 'switch off' more.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

At 19.51pm on October 1st 2014 I clicked ‘publish’ on my first ever post here on HarmonyBlaze, it was a relatively meaty post at 580 words and all about my favourite subject; me. Three years on and my little corner of the internet has changed so much but I still love just as much, if not more.

At Home Upper Body Routine

Over the past few months I have totally mixed up my fitness regime both inside and outside of the gym, going from heavy cardio based sessions to ones that are more strength focused. Many of the workouts I do now can just as easily be done at home as in the gym too, making them perfect for busier days!

The Fitness Files | September '17

I'm writing this with a headful of regret. Last night I headed out with my work mates for a 'few' drinks and a curry after work and well lets just say that those few turned into plenty and then shapes were thrown on the dance floor ...

My Threads, Treads & Treats | September '17

It is now officially Autumn and as the leaves begin to fall, the temperatures plummet and we start to don our layers and coats once again - I'm still sat here not ready or willing to say goodbye to Summer. Don't get me wrong, I love Autumn, but there is still so much of Summer I haven't experienced.

Looking After Number One

I love the idea of self care - the idea of taking time out of our days to look after ourselves, to enrich our minds and nourish our bodies in whichever way we damn please. Making time in your diary to focus on yourself doesn't mean that you are being needy or selfish, far from it, it means that you want to protect the most important person in your life. You.

Slowing Down

I fully intended to take a few days off from blogging, after my little crisis of confidence over the weekend, and to recharge my batteries a little and take stock of the situation. But being the little worker bee that I am I can't seem to stay away.. so I guess that's my answer to the question of should I continue.

Should I Continue...

Sorry for the late arrival of tonights post, I had penned one on fitness and exercise but instead felt the need to post something a little more personal instead because right not I'm sure if I should or in fact can keep on posting.

How NOT to book a Package Holiday

2017-how-to-not-book-a-package-holiday-img1

Whilst on holiday this year, I read an interesting piece online about the so-called death of the all-inclusive holiday. Although this was due to the UK 'claim culture' it got me thinking about the deals (or lack of) that Paul and I have taken advantage of over the past few years.

Fall In Love with Working Out

2017-fall-in-love-fitness-blogger-superdry

In today's modern society, we often find ourselves flitting about all over the place like little social butterflies and when prioritising, working out is quite often one of the things which we end up putting on the back burner.

Where to Wine & Dine in Faliraki

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Faliraki? I'm guess club 18-30 holidays, clubbing and loud nightlife, am I right? If you had asked me that question earlier this year I would have probably said the same, but not anymore.

Hello September...

I almost can't believe how fast we are approaching Autumn already (although you could be forgiven for thinking it has already arrived) and how many months have already passed us by. I'm not quite ready to give up on the idea of evening drinks outside and BBQs just yet but it's time to look forward to September.

The Fitness Files | August '17

So it's time for a little catch up, to share a few home truths about the state of my health and fitness regime and to look back over what has actually been quite a ropey month for me in the gym. Yes it's time to open 'The Fitness Files' once more and for a little honesty to come your way...

It's OK

There seems to be a massive trend online at the moment where by people call others out because they have unfriended or unfollowed them and it isn't just within the blogging community either. But believe it or not it is totally OK to do this as you grow.

Life Update & Looking Forward

As I write this I am on the last leg of my journey to Wales, listening to Oasis & dreaming of a big ass bottle of water and some kind of salad. I guess you could say I'm in a good place right now and I wanted to finally give my YT channel the attention it deserves.

No Results? No Sweat!

2017-no-results-no-sweat-fitness-blogger-lifestyle-yorkshire-coast-summer-body-confidence-img1

Its hard isn't it? Spending all those hours in the gym or working out at home only to feel as though you're making no progress with it all. I totally get how you are feeling, I've been there, I still am there but over the years I've learned to understand why.

Every Body's a Bikini Body*

Each Winter I spend months wishing away the days until I can shed the layers once again and enjoy long Summer days filled with Sun, Sea and ultimately a little self loathing too. You see as much as I love Summer, it is a huge test of my self-confidence.

I'm pretty certain that by now you will have heard me mention that I have been fortunate enough to be shortlisted for Best Fitness Blog at this years #BloggersBlogAwards. Being shortlisted has got me thinking about this little corner of the blogosphere that I call home and how far I have come so far.

Threads, Treads & Treats | July '17 Edit

As you may be able to guess from this post being a few days late, the end of July really did sneak up on me like a ninja! July started with long, sunny days in Rhodes that were filled with Pina Coladas, Gyros and not a great deal else and ended with even longer days in the office!

Hello August...

Well August, you're one of the months that we eagerly anticipate the most with your promise of evenings in the garden sipping Prosecco, barbecues and the sweet heat of the sun. This time two years ago I was settling down for a week in Sorrento but what does this August hold in store?

The Fitness Files | July '17

I don't want to start this post with the old cliche that is 'how is it the end of another month already', but, this month has flown by so fast that I didn't actually realise it was already the end of the month! So I thought we best have a catch up.

5 Things to Do or See in Rhodes

Although it may now seem like a distant dream and as though I have never been away, just a few weeks ago today I was waking up to my last full day on the Dodecanese Island of Rhodes. I've always wanted to go to Greece and I certainly wasn't disappointed during my time there.

Mindful Munching*

These days there seems to be a lot of hype regarding the subject of 'mindful eating' and it has become one of those on trend phases to say you are going through along with 'eating with intention' and 'intuitive eating'. But isn't this something that we just do naturally anyway?

Step into Summer

I've always been a massive fan of those Chanel Espadrilles that I am pretty certain you will have seen adorning the feet of many a blogger over the past twelve months. However, there isn't a single part of me could ever justify £460 on a pair of rope soled shoes.

Learning to Love Myself

During my time in Rhodes, I spent a lot of time reflecting on the relationship that I have with myself and I deduced that in all honesty it isn't always a very good one. I also deduced that it is probably about time that I did.

I've always been an analytical kinda gal, the kind who looks for the lines to read between as opposed to taking things at face value and rethinks and replays scenes from life over and over again, trying to find something that isn't there.

The Art of Saying No

One thing that I have come to learn about myself over the past few years is that I always aim to please and although that isn't a bad trait to have, it does mean that at times I simply cannot say no to people, no matter how much I should to.
