Every month of the year is special in it’s own way.
November sees the nights drawing in, the shops filling their shelves with festive goodies, Christmas markets opening their doors and of course Remembrance Sunday.
This is my November, my favourite things about the month and what I’ll be getting up to over the next few weeks…
1 – Party time! My favourite thing about November is that it always involves a great night out to celebrate by boyfriends birthday and this year is no different with 11 of us due to take Leeds by storm in a few weeks time for cocktails, food and plenty of laughs. Be warned!
2 – Bonfire Night, remember, remember the 5th November! I have always loved fireworks and bonfires, getting wrapped up warm, eating bonfire toffee, lighting sparklers and watching the sky being lit up by the rockets. I think i’ll need to work extra hard at the gym this month!
3 – Christmas decorations! Ok yes I know it’s November, but they sell out by December so this is the month to buy them. I started yesterday by buying a little owl and squirrel for the tree at the local garden centre, they’re so cute!
4 – Remembrance Sunday, my grandparents taught me about the significance of Remembrance weekend from a young age having lived through both WWs. I always buy a poppy and spend a little time thanking those that have fallen for us.
5 – The Christkindelmarkt opens in Leeds’ Millennium Square on November 14th and is bound to be as popular as ever with over 40 wooden chalet stalls manned by authentic German traders who return to the city annually selling handcrafted toys, jewellery, decorations, sweets and german delicacies such as bratwurst, goulash, stollen and my favourite, gingerbread. It’s a great place to get in the festive spirit and a brilliant evening out!
