Happy Easter everyone! The only time of year (other than Christmas) that it is acceptable to wake up, run downstair and eat chocolate for breakfast! But aside from the sweet treats that are so naturally associated with this weekend I thought I’d focus on the colour I think of when thinking about Easter, yellow.
Yellow is one of my favourite colours, I’ve always liked it and there could be numerous reasons behind it; maybe it’s because it’s bright, warm and summery or maybe it’s it’s sporting connections in Leeds. I don’t know. What I do know is that it has always had a place in my life.
The top above is quite possibly the most vibrant piece of clothing in my wardrobe and has been for some time as I picked it up from Miss Sixty years ago now. I love how it looks with a little bit of an early summer, hint of tan and shades when it starts to get warm. It screams summer and always goes abroad with me!
I own a few yellow or gold varnishes but my favourite right now is the new Barry M Quick Dry polish in Stop the Clock – it’s a very pale lemon and in some lights it almost looks magnolia like (you know the paint colour that every housebuilder in the UK has shares in?).
Ah the biggest and brightest item to have come into my life has to be my boyfriends car! A few summers ago we went to Centre Parcs with his family and I went to the Pottery Painting class one afternoon for a bit of a relax. I was really stuck for inspiration until I saw the little car money box and instantly knew what to do!
Finally my Easter scent for the house has got to be the Sicilian Lemon Yankee Candle – I find that the Votives offer such good value and allow you to try out such a wide variety of aromas around the house. I have a few on the go at the minute and as you can imagine this one smells wonderfully fresh and fruity.
So that’s it from me for this Bank Holiday – I’m off to enjoy a bit of time with friends and family, and a whole load of Chocolate before work on Tuesday!
What’s your Easter colour? Let me know below and I’ll catch you again soon, until then though x
