This time next week I will be on the Amalfi Coast, soaking up all of the sun on offer and sipping on Rose wine whilst munching on olives. To say I am excited would be an understatement – I can’t wait! So with this in mind last weekend I hit the Intu Trafford Centre in Manchester to stock up on some holiday essentials and some not so essential purchases…
After a fuel filled Nandos for lunch the first store we headed into was Selfridges. As we don’t have one in Leeds, visiting the yellow heaven that is Selfridges always feels like a treat to me. Although the main purpose of my visit was to pick up one of their Summer Beauty Boxes (make sure you check my post out on that as well, the contents are fab) I also wanted to visit the Nars counter to pick up their Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (£19.50, Selfridges). I have the oiliest eyelids in the world and recently eyeshadow has vanished from them in minutes. Having heard great things about this from fellow greasy lid sufferers I decided to pick one up to try out on my jollies.
After a bit a wander around, my next purchases were made in Superdry (even if I did take one back). One thing I love about Superdry is that you can always guarantee that whatever you pickup in store will be soft, comfortable and hardwearing. I was mainly looking for a pair of shorts and already own a navy pair of their International ones (£39.99, Superdry Store) and so after much deliberation and trying on of alternatives, I picked up these white ones without thinking. Now white is great on holiday, but I couldn’t see me wearing them much when I got back. Hence 2 days later I took them back, oops. But the vest I picked up will most definitely be in my suitcase next week, this mint coloured, racer back vest uses lace detailing to transform your ordinary, run of the mill vest into something a little more interesting and feminine.
Finally onto Boots. I needed to pick up a few travel essentials such as little bottles to decant my cleanser etc. into but also a few things that I wanted to try out. Namely, Rimmels Exagerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob (£3.99), Maybeline Master Sculpt in 01 Light/Medium (£6.99), the RealTechniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99) and a replacement for my Benefit Porefessional Primer (£24.50). However, in all honesty the main reason I wanted to go into Boots was to go to the Bumble & Bumble stand. I had a quick chat with one of their lovely experts and popped their Surf Infusion Spray (£29.50) into my basket along with a few samples of other Bb. products that they were lovely enough to give me.
A few days later I did a mini-Primark haul and also bought a few bargains from the eBay Superdry Store to finish off my holiday shopping, you will see those in my holiday posts in a few weeks time.
Have you done any holiday hauling recently? Let me know your must have pre-holiday buys below and I look forward to catching up with you again soon, until the though x
