I’m lucky that my office closes over the Christmas period, however, I know that that isn’t the case for everyone and that at this time of year being able to take an outfit through from office to party is even more important than normal.
Today I’ve teamed up with the guys Duchess London to show how you can take four of their ‘Day Wear’ dresses from the office to the dance floor this New Year, by making only a handful of additions to your wardrobe.
First of all if you haven’t heard of Duchess London then let me introduce you to them – set up by Mariangela D’Addato who wanted to make buying quality, timeless dresses easier, Duchess London specialise in classic styles and not faddish trends.
Investment pieces such as these can easily be worn both in the office and out of it thanks to their simple, sculpting styles.
The easiest way to jazz any outfit up and make it dance floor ready in minutes is to accessorise and such when your dress is as elegant as one of these beauties you don’t need to add much to it to look a million dollars.
My favourite way to accessorise any outfit is to add a belt into the mix and having picked this beauty up from Pieces earlier this year, I can confirm it looks just as good with formal wear as it does with party wear. Belts can also add additional shape and definition to any outfit as well as a little glitz and glamour and waist belts are perfect if you’re a little on the short side like me and wanting to elongate the lower half of your body.
You might be able to notice a theme running through my selection of accessories that I have picked out, they’re all metallic. Metallics are the life and soul of any party outfit, are rarely seen in the office and can glam up even the plainest of LBDs in an instant.
From these Pewter Court shoes from Office, this sequinned bag from Aldo and pretty hairband from ASOS to this gorgeous Vivienne Westwood watch, you can add a little bit of sparkle my changing the simplest of things.
How do you take an outfit from AM-to-PM? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
