I love popping into Leeds at any time of year. It has the bright lights, the shops and bars that I adore and most of my family and friends still live there. But at Christmas it just seems extra magical and lovely there.
The Christkindlmarkt has been gracing Leeds with its presence every Christmas for the past 14 years and every year on this, what I class as the last working Friday of the year, I head into Leeds with Mother Blaze to see what it has to offer.
From the tiny craft and confectionery stalls to the Churros and Potato Cakes, there’s something for everyone and the smell of Mulled Wine lingers in the air filling it with love and laughter (and joy ever after).
This year Millenium Square, just a stones throw from both Trinity and Victoria Gate, has been transformed into a festive village with more than 40 traditionally decorated chalets, a Carousel and an Alp Chalet for that apres-ski feel!
What I love most about Leeds at Christmas is the atmosphere, everyone is so cheery and festive and even though the city is busting at the seems thanks to party revelers and Christmas shoppers, I still walk through the streets with a giant smile on my face!
If you haven’t visited the Christkindlmarkt in Leeds this year time is running out as the stall holders will close their shutters for the final time on Sunday night and start driving home for Christmas!
