Another day, another post and another (sort of) revival of an old favourite of mine, my monthly roundup of all things fitness related. But this is a revival & a rebrand and instead of taking a look through ‘My Fitness Diary’, it’s time to dive head first into The Fitness Files!
Yes the pages of my fitness diary are now filled and instead at the end of each month I will be taking a look through The Fitness Files, a round up of all things health & fitness related over the last 30 days.
Ready? Lets go!
THE INSPIRATIONAL INSTAGRAMMER … There is nothing more inspirational than a girl who is running the world from her suitcase, enjoying pizza at every opportunity and still rocking the most amazing body. A girl who practices what she preaches and understands the word ‘moderation’. This month the wonderful Em Sheldon is my Instagram inspiration, her account is light, airy and pure goals!
THE HUNGER HERO … This month I have discovered homemade tortilla chips and man alive I cannot get enough of them. Simply cut a pack of tortillas into triangular shaped chips, spritz with Olive Oil and sprinkle with Salt & Pepper before popping in the oven for around 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Simple & delicious!
THE COVETED KIT … Right now I have to say that good old Reebok have got it going on! I recently picked up a few new pieces (including this amazing tank) and I honestly thing I could have picked up 4 or 5 new outfits for the gym at the same time because their kit is so functional, uber fashionable and super comfortable too. Next up I need a pair of classic trainers in my life again!
YOU GOT TO MOVE IT … This month I went swimming for the first time in years. Yes I’ve done the odd length on holiday and splashed around in the sunshine but I haven’t seriously swam for probably 8 years or more and I couldn’t believe; a, what a good workout I got and b, how much I enjoyed it. So next time you’re stuck for what to do as a workout, go for a swim.
THIS MONTH I’M LOVING … Classes! After spending the first few months of the year running in preparation for the Leeds Half Marathon (not sure I’ve mentioned that before) which is in 12 days time (panic) I’ve started to mix up my routine by adding in a few classes again and I am loving them. I’d forgotten how motivating it was to work out in a group (fear of failure is a motivator) and it’s a great way to socialise too!
