One thing that I absolutely love about Summer is how easy it is to take your style from day-to-night. In Summer rules are there to be broken and besides who wouldn’t want to wear a swimsuit all day when it’s as beaut as this?!
You will all by now be well aware of my obsession with all this Superdry and when I saw this little lovely in the recent release of their holiday collection I just new I had to have it.
The first thing that struck me about this fluro red swimsuit (other than it’s Baywatch connotations) was the fact that it is an ideal dupe for this Hifiger Haidie one as sported by the wonderful Victoria on her recent trip to the Maldives. At half the price of the Hilfiger swimsuit, the Varsity one from Superdry is much more friendlier to the bank balance, leaving more funds available to enjoy the glorious weather we have been having.
We are all too often told to ‘cover up’, ‘dress appropriately’ and to ‘act our age’ but why? Why should we cover up if the sun is shining? So long as you slap on the sunscreen does it matter if you show a little skin and enjoy that vitamin D for free?
Is there such a thing as dressing appropriately? Surely everyone’s version of appropriate is different?
In my opinion age is but a number and if I fancy wearing a pair of short shorts and a swimsuit to enjoy the sun in, why shouldn’t I wear them? Is there an unwritten rule that turning 30 means that you should automatically turn into a Stepford wife?
No there bloody well isn’t!
In Summer you can lie in until late, hit the beach and enjoy the feeling of sand between your toes as you go for an evening stroll on the beach. Or you can head out for a full day at the beach, chill out with an ice cream (or two) as you listen to the sound of the waves rolling in, kissing the beach, before heading for a few drinks as the sun sets on the horizon. And you can wear what you want.
So throw yourself a party, wear your favourite tropical prints or board-shorts, invite your crew round and bring the beach to you. Hell grab yourself a paddling pool & and inflatable unicorn just because.
Because in Summer rules are made to be broken & the night is young.
What are you looking forward to wearing this Summer?Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
