I almost can’t believe how fast we are approaching Autumn already (although you could be forgiven for thinking it has already arrived) and how many months have already passed us by. I’m not quite ready to give up on the idea of evening drinks outside and BBQs just yet but it’s time to look forward to September.
In all honesty I don’t associate September with the end of Summer too much as over the past few years it has tended to be quite a nice month, even if the nights are darker and gloomier all of a sudden. I feel a little discontented with Summer this year; I haven’t had long afternoons out with friends putting the world to rights over a few G&T’s, I haven’t spent many an afternoon out walking with Paul exploring new corners of our county and I’ve only been to one BBQ.
Personally I still feel as though I am waiting for Summer to arrive!
But September brings with it so much more than just shorter days and this month I am feeling so motivated to hit the ground running. Yes my diary is a little bit sparse when it comes to events and trips (I’m starting to think that I am on some imaginary bloggers blacklist right now), but it was last month too and I ended up going on some of the best trips ever.
I guess the biggest event in my diary this month is the #BloggersBlogAwards in Leeds on the 30th, a month on and I still cannot believe that anyone thought to nominate me, never-mind being shortlisted for an actual award! There are still a few days left to get your votes in by visiting TeaPartyBeauty.com and I really appreciate every single one of them!
So aside from planning my outfit for the awards, pampering & preening myself in the run up, what else does September have in store?
Well not much to be honest, which will give me time to focus on myself in the gym a little more that I’ve been able to recently. I’ve recently set myself some goals to work towards over the next few months which you may have seen on my Insta stories earlier this week. Over the next few months I’m going to be stricter with my meals, more committed to the gym in the hope of dropping a few pounds, losing a few inches and feeling brighter.
Finally this month I want to spend more time AFK as the cool kids say (or away from keyboard to you & me), having decided to give myself a few days off over the Bank Holiday weekend I realised just how much time I spend looking at a screen. These days more and more of us work on a screen, our phones are our lifelines and evenings just aren’t the same without the latest instalment of the box-set we are binging on.
I’m connected to my emails & DMs 24/7, 7 days a week to discuss opportunities and events, however, this is totally unhealthy because it means that I never get a break. This is why although my DMs & emails are always open, my notifications are turned off … so that I can check and respond as and when I am free to do so.
So this month I want to spend more time off the grid as I did in Wales, spend more time laughing with those that I love the most and less time worrying about what is going on online.
I’m going to live my life, in real life.
What does September hold in store for you?
Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
