Ab-Flab to Ab-Fab

Getting a little push in the right direction isn’t something
we should be ashamed of, I mean at the end of the day none of us are
Superheroes are we? We’re only human and sometimes we mere mortals need a little

You see that image above? The one on the left? I posted that on my Instagram feed about 8 weeks ago now and at the time it really (and I mean really) scared me to do so. You see for me it was a reverse progress picture. 

Last Summer I worked harder than I ever had done before, I ate better than even I knew I could and I made more progress than I knew was possible. After years of yo-yo dieting, fad following and ultimately disappointment I finally felt as though I had found my thing, found my happy and started a way of life that worked for me.

Then Winter happened, I started to move less, eat more and guess what? I ended up feeling disappointed again. But this time I wasn’t disappointed that what I had tried hadn’t worked, I was disappointed that it had and that I had failed to keep up to it. 

Realistically I don’t think what I did last Summer was a realistic way of life for me to keep up long-term but at the start of the year I needed a metaphorical kick up the bum and a jump start. I want to get back to a ‘happy place’ by the time my holiday (which I still haven’t booked) comes around and one thing I am never happy with is my abs, so it seemed like the best place to start.

For the past 8 weeks I have been wearing the Slendertone Connect for 30 minutes every morning before work as well as aiming to clean my diet up (OK I will admit that that hasn’t gone THAT well) and move more (which I have definitely achieved). 

You see, the beauty of the Slendertone Connect is that you can carry on living your life whilst the amazing electronic muscle simulators do their job contracting and relaxing the muscles that give you that flat tum. As I said above I’ve been wearing it on a morning whilst I get ready for work but I’ve worn it whilst cooking & cleaning too. It’s small enough and discreet enough to wear under a T-shirt or jumper too, so you don’t have to worry if there’s a knock at the door, nobody would ever guess you’re working out whilst you sign for that parcel!

I made a vow this year to take less notice of the scales and the tape measure and to take more notice of what was staring back at me in the mirror instead so I’m not 100% sure how much weight I have lost but I know it’s a few lbs at least and I can clearly see that I have lost a few inches too. 

But the numbers don’t mean a thing if you don’t feel happy and I must admit that thanks to the results I have achieved over the past few months I really do. I’m flatter, I’m more toned and most importantly of all I am much happier with the girl looking back at me in the mirror in the morning and pretty damn proud of my little Slendertone Connect too!
