I’me pretty certain I’ve shared my blogging story with you all in the past but for those new to these parts (and I’m pretty sure there are a few) I’m going to share it with you again today and for a very, very good reason.
Back in 2012 I was working as Sales & Brand Manager for an up and coming cosmetics brand and part of my role was finding bloggers to work with, arranging product reviews and engaging with them through social media. I loved what they were doing (I still follow some of the girls I worked with back then today) and thought about giving it a shot myself.
After a few months I realised I had no idea what I was doing, it all felt a little bit forced and unnatural to me, I decided to close down ‘The Beauty Review’ and call it a day. I had no emotional attachment to my little corner of the internet back then and it didn’t dishearten me to call it a day.
But back in the Summer of 2014 I stumbled across a YouTuber called ‘InTheFrow’ and I spend many a lunch hour watching her videos or reading her latest posts. Through following Victoria I started to discover more and more bloggers & vloggers and ignited a creative streak in me. Whenever I tried a new product out I would bore my poor boyfriend to tears telling him what I did or didn’t like about it.
I’ve always had a lot to say.
One Sunday afternoon I signed up for blogger and started to build my own little corner of the internet up under the guise of Harmony Blaze, back then I didn’t want people to know my site was me … I was little worried about what people would think.
Harmony Blaze was born in October 2014 and started out as a place to share my views on the latest beauty products on the market, although it quickly transitioned into a lifestyle blog and whilst Paul was working away in 2015 it became a huge part my life, who I am and what I wanted to be.
Today I’ve been nominated for a UK Blog Award in their Sports & Fitness Category which means so much to me as I decided at the start of this year that I wanted Harmony Blaze to become more focused on healthy living and wellness at the start of this year. It’s a topic close to my heart because I personally want to live a healthier lifestyle and take better of myself and to be recognised for it is an amazing feeling.
But now that I have been nominated I need your help to make the final cut. This morning at 8am the public vote opened on the UK Blog Awards website and I would be eternally thankful if you could spare to minutes to vote for me.
I’d love to hear your blogging stories too, let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
