Blaze Blogs | Finding Balance

These days you don’t have to look very far to find an opinion on the nations diet or the state of our health on the whole. The thing is I don’t believe in living a ‘clean’ life 100% of the time and here’s why…

…Life is too short and too precious.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree that not enough is being done to protect future generations, it seems a shame that so much technology exist these days and all that we use it for really is gaming and being sedentary.

Surely some of it could be put to good use? I mean sure Pokemon Go was unbelievably annoying but at least it got kids moving and outside.

In days gone by, older generations understood moderation because they had to do. They couldn’t afford to fill the lunch boxes of their children with convenience foods like crisps and chocolate, heck, our parents probably ate bread every day for lunch and it didn’t do them any harm did it?

Our bodies do not need chocolate to survive, nor does it crave it. I know when my body craves sweet things it is because it is lacking in something else, something good like protein, complex carbs or good fats. Not because it wants chocolate.

To me it seems that we are ready to lay the blame at anyones door but our own, it’s always someone else’s fault.

When in reality it is our own lack of will power that is the true reason behind out bad choices.

Having chocolates bought for you does not mean that you need to eat them all in one sitting. Going out for a meal does not mean that you have to eat something that is overly filling and stodgy. Dark nights are not an excuse to stay in and stay still.

Have one or two chocolates a day, make healthy choices and get moving.

You are in charge of your own life, your own decisions and nobody else. Nobody will look after you better than you, don’t look for people to blame without looking in the mirror first.

Where do you find balance? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
