Christmas Traditions

Merry Christmas Everyone! I thought I would post a simple and sentimental post up today about my Christmas, what I do and where I go over Christmas …

After finishing work at lunch on Christmas Eve, Christmas can begin in earnest as Paul & begin visiting family and friends and delivering presents, whoever we can get to on the big day itself we try to get to in the run up instead.

On Christmas Eve night we head home, order a curry and have a few drinks, snuggled up with a good film. I love Christmas movies like Love Actually and Elf, but this year it will probably be Star Wars (obsessed).

Christmas morning starts with a bang, well with Croissants and Coffee anyway!!! And once we have opened our gifts and tidied up the remnants of wrapping paper we doll ourselves up and load up the car to do more gifting before lunch with Paul’s family. Lunch there is a big family affair, with emergency chairs a plenty. After opening more gifts we take our seats for the traditional Turkey & Trimmings.

Lunch will take a few hours and it will definitely be dark when we finish, after a little retreat, and maybe a sleep, it’s time to head back to our sofa.

Boxing Day is another big family day, with the return of our beloved Rugby League. After a festive match and a little bit of cheer we head around to Paul’s Grams for Turkey & Chips, a chance to use up the leftovers from Christmas Lunch and another opportunity to catch up with the family.

Finally the 27th and a day of rest, maybe a little walk out and some lunch, but time to ourselves doing something we love.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, I hope your day has been good? Let me know your festive traditions below and I’ll catch up with you tomorrow with my ‘Top Blogs & Vlogs’, until then though x
