Festive Neutrals

When I set out to do this post I was all set up to do a glowing, festive make up look with metallic, shimmering eyes and a seasonally bright red lip. But as I started to create the look I found that it just took a different direction…

One of the first ‘big’ makeup brands I trusted as a teen was MAC, they would often do makeup tutorial evenings at their concession within Harvey Nichols in Leeds and my mum and I would attend them and often pick up a few pieces after.

From then on I would regularly treat myself to a new eyeshadow or lipgloss when I got paid and when I turned 21 my parents paid for me to go in and have my makeup done before my party. It’s a relationship that has lasted over a decade and two products in particular had stood the test of time, their Woodwinked & Antiqued Eyeshadows.

Both are warm brown shades and whilst Woodwinked ins more metallic and golden, Antiqued is deep in colour and more burgundy making it the perfect shade to use along the lower lashes to create a smoky effect.

Teaming this with a neutral lip such as MAC Taupe creates a sleek and neutral make up look.

I’m not saying I’ve outgrown the bold lip generation, far from it, but for this Christmas at least I’m going for the neutral look.

What’s your go to Christmas look this year? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
