Today is one of those rare, beautifully clear late-Winter days. The sun is shinning, there’s blue sky above and an air of positivity floating around. Are we finally starting to leave Winter behind us?
Don’t get me wrong, I love Winter. I’m a Winter baby and I love adore dark nights, snowy days and the crisp, cold air that greets us every time we step outside… I really don’t dislike Winter.
Yes it’s harder to get the ‘perfect’ selfie (because the sun makes everyone look ten times healthier right?) and taking decent blog photos is near impossible, but other than that it really isn’t so bad.
February for me is looking very exciting – tonight I get to go out and celebrate one of my oldest and closest friends engagement, later in the month Paul & I will be heading out with a big group of friends to celebrate 3 birthdays (February babies are popular it seems) and then at the end of the month we are jetting back off to Porto again.
February is of course also the month of love, the month where smug marrieds (can you guess what I watched last night?) flaunt their love and affection for each other in front of the world, card shops get to make their millions and supermarkets sell out of flowers. I might sound like a Valentines cynic and I guess to a certain extent I am, I love the affectionate and playful side of the day and I absolutely adored celebrating the day with a meal out last year, but I don’t particularly buy into the lavish and extravagance of it all.
Remember the little things mean a lot.
February is also the month of new beginnings for me as I overhaul my training plan in preparation for the Leeds Half Marathon. It’s been three years since I last did a serous run like this and in that time I decided that I hated running and never wanted to pound the pavements again. Maybe I’m stupid, but I’ve decided to get back in the game and I’ll be sharing more on this this week.
Finally February sees the launch of ‘The Monthly Edit’ a dose of all things HarmonyBlaze direct to your inbox! There’ll be a roundup of my favourite places, faces and purchases of the month as well as a whole lot of sass. Make sure you signup here.
February, be a babe, take it easy on me!
What does February hold in store for you? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
