We all have those days where we wake up feeling like we ate too much the day before, had a few too many glasses of wine with tea last night or stayed up too late watching the Paralympic Games (guilty) and on those days we need a few quick fixes to get back on track…
Here’s what I do when I have a heavy, fuzzy head and want to hide away under the duvet for a day;
ZONE OUTStart the day by switching off. Don’t jump straight on social media or the computer, take it slow and lounge a little. Grab a cup of green tea and a good book and let your brain wake up at it’s own pace instead.
HYDRATEMake sure you drink plenty, that fuzzy head is probably a sign of dehydration! Grab some lemon infused water to help shift any sulphates from your system and quench that first without overloading on sugars.
GET MOVINGThis doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym and getting your lift on, instead it can be something as simple and enjoyable as going for a long walk at one of your favourite beauty spots. The fresh air will help clear your head and you’ll feel so much better for raising that heartbeat a little too and getting the blood flowing.
EAT WELLAnd by this I don’t mean a fry up first thing, a fast food lunch and a takeaway tea as much as you would like to consume all the carbs in the world at this point! Why not cook up a protein rich omelette or start the day with a smoothie instead? If you feel the need to nibble throughout the day opt for fruit over stodge.
BE HAPPYIt’s amazing how much wearing a smile can make you feel inside, so turn that frown upside down and hold your head up high whilst everyone else still suffers under their duvet!
Let me know your tips to feeling awesome again below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
