Losing My Way

Well my little Blaze-ettes, we’ve made it through another 7-days with me barely saying hello, but I have a lot going on right now to say the least so I’m sure you will forgive me in the long run for going a little awol recently.

Last year I felt as though I roared into the new year, but so far in 2018 I feel as though I have lost my way a little (read: a lot) and it isn’t for the lack of ideas or inspiration either.

You see whilst I was in Gran Canaria last year I came up with so many content ideas for on here, on my YouTube channel and for my newsletter. But I haven’t had time to work on any of them.

I spent the time I had off between Christmas and New Year working on my layout, my SEO and tidying up those dreaded broken links. But I didn’t really prepare any content and now I feel as though I am constant chasing my tail to try and get posts out there to you. Combined with a lack of photography (and time), posting on a regular basis just hasn’t happened in 2018 so far.

But it isn’t because I don’t want, I really do, I’m just prioritising other things right now.

Take tonight for instance (it’s Saturday by the way, the day before this post goes live) and I’m currently chilling on the bed whilst Paul nips to the supermarket. We have no Saturday night plans for what feels like the first time in ages and so I have no excuse for not sitting down with the laptop.

Only I do, I want to take a shower, do my hair (which I have been putting off for over a week) and chill out on the sofa with a takeaway in my fleecy romper.

Tonight I want Paul & I to put our phones down, to snuggle up and watch a film, enjoy each other company and not be slaves to technology. Yes I would love to have a full week of content polished up and ready to go, but at the same time I really just want to spend some time being us.

I’m fully aware that this is a little bit of a ranty post, one of those posts without a purpose but I think it is the post I needed to write right now.

Over the next few months I have a few trips planned that I can’t wait to take you on, some fantastic collaborations to work on and a couple of awesome giveaways lined up for you. So right now I feel justified in prioritising myself for a while.

I know you guys will understand, because you’re awesome like that.

I started 2018 being excited about my content, where it was heading and the opportunities it could bring into my life. That hasn’t changed, I just guess I’m still on the starter blocks at the moment.

I feel as though I've lost my way. I started the year full of enthusiasm and motivation, but I haven't got off to the roaring start I wanted. I'm talking about losing my way in this post and why prioritising me is still key regardless! #SelfCare #BlogTips #TheYearofMe
