My Birchbox Unboxing – November 2015 Edition

I was really looking forward to the delivery of this months Birchbox thanks to their collaboration with SkinnyDip London and the selection of products online from which mine would be chosen. However, my excitement was short lived when I opened the box…

I like to use these unboxing posts to tell you about my first thought on products and then feature some of them in more depth at a later date. This post will be no different and hopefully it will not come across as too ‘moany’ as it wasn’t the selection I hoped for!

SkinnyDip London Phone Case – £12 – This is one item I do love from my box and it was worth the additional £4 to receive it as it really does look the part on my new iPhone. I know you can’t get this case from their site and it really was just was I was looking for so this definitely made me smile when I saw it!

Lord & Berry Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner – £9 – Now I’m not a massive lipstick wearer so this is not something that I would have ever picked up myself, especially seeing as when I do buy it I tend to buy a matching liner too. This didn’t excite me but I will try it and see if it works as it could be the capsule makeup case solution we all need!

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial – £32 – Again this isn’t a product I would probably ever pick up for myself so I am looking forward to trying it out to see if it makes any difference. The formula in this facial is rumored to leave your skin refreshed and radiant when used 2-3 times a week and that can’t be a bad thing can it?

Beauty Protector Beauty Cream Body Lotion – £8 – I’ve received a few products from Beauty Protector before and never really fallen in love with them and so this unfortunately may just end up heading into the abyss that is my makeup drawer. Who knows I may try it and love it?

Number 4 Prep & Protect – £20 – A product I never expected to receive because it wasn’t in the monthly selection online, because my hair is a bit weak and tired I may try this out to see if it lives up to it’s claims of ‘strengthening and repairing tired strands’.  A nice little product to receive, albeit unexpectedly.

Delarom Creme Acquaconfort – £34 – This box feels quite skincare heavy and by the time I’ve given the REN product a chance to shine, the Delarom may not have time to make a name for itself before the arrival of December’s (hopefully more makeup led) box arrives. Creme Acquaconfort sounds like a perfect Autumn/ Winter product  with its blend of almond and apricot oils that are designed to soothe and nourish our seasonal, weather beaten skin.

Thumbs Up Rosa Nail Wraps – £6.99 – Off the shelf nail solutions like these just aren’t for me, I have ridiculously oily nails and so varnishes and wraps often struggle to stay around for long and in addition to this my tiny nails mean that I have to spend hours fiddling with them to get them to the right size. Too much faffing around if you ask me, I’d rather just throw on a slick of varnish, it’s so much faster and looks so much nicer in my opinion.

So there you have it, a quick run through what’s in my box and my first thoughts on each of the products inside, I guess every beauty box is allowed to have a shaky month every now and again, roll on December’s edition!

Let me know your thoughts on the SkinnyDip Edition Birchbox below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
