My Blogger Confession

A few months ago whilst reading another blog it dawned on me, as it had her, that I had no Rimmel products in my arsenal of makeup. Since then I have come to realise just how good this British drugstore brand is thanks to these game changing additions…

What do we have here…

Rimmel Matte BB Cream – £6.99

Rimmel Match Perfect – £6.99

Rimmel Wake Me Up – £5.49

The first Rimmel item I added to my collection was the Matte BB Cream – I actually reviewed this back in December (here) so I won’t go on about this too much, but is one of the few samples I have had in a beauty box that I have gone on to purchase. Why? Whereas my Garnier BB Cream is great for summer because it leaves that ‘glow’ on the skin and gives good enough coverage to where alone on the beach or even just day to day once I’ve got a bit of colour back, this is my perfect Winter version. It’s slightly lighter in consistency so it feels comfortable under a touch a powder and doesn’t look to caked on, it offers good coverage, brightens my skin but the matte formula means that I don’t end up looking greasy.

Next up was the Match Perfection Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation. This was an impulse addition as I was looking for a ‘cheap’ pale foundation for a Halloween look I was creating. But I found that this matched my pale Winter skin perfectly and that I actually really liked it. Again as with the BB Cream this offers really good coverage and you only need one pump of the foundation, if that if I’m completely honest, to get good results. The only downside to this is that if my skin needs exfoliating, or is particularly oily because it’s having an off day it does disintegrate by 4pm and look a little bit messy even when used with a powder. Overall though I would say this is really good for those good skin days.

Finally the Wake Me Up Concealer has found it’s way into my life thanks to my January haul. I’d seen Victoria use this over on Inthefrow a few times and I’m really fussy when it comes to concealers and very rarely stray away from Urban Decay’s 24/7 Concealer Pencils. But I’d heard good things and I thought “why not”. I’m so glad I did. This has now fast become my everyday concealer. It is so easy to apply, looks good on the skin and most importantly of all covers those annoying little blemishes we hate! I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for an everyday item.

So there you have it. My confession of owning no Rimmel has changed to I love Rimmel, even if I have only tried their base products… so far!

What items do you use to ‘get the London look’?
