My Five Minute Makeup Essentials

We’ve all had those days where seemingly no matter how much thought and effort you put into being prepared, the alarm doesn’t go off, you oversleep and have to be out of the door in next five minutes, either that or if you’re like me you take way too long in the shower and then end up having no time for makeup!

So what’s a girl to do when she has next to no time to get ready? Well when I’m running low on time I tend to scoop up my hair into a messy bun and crack out some of my most trusted beauty products.

BB Cream – I must admit i’m not overly fussy when it comes to BB or CC Creams but at the moment I am still using the Garnier Pure Active that I picked up in Italy this summer. For me this is a five minute beauty essential because it offers fabulous coverage in seconds, it evens skin tone and stops my skin from dehydrating in harsh weather… Or an air conditioned office!

Bronzer – I flit between Benefit’s Hoola and the wonderful Soap & Glory Solar Powder dependant upon the time of year and colour of my skin! At the moment, unsurprisingly, I am on the paler side and Solar Powder is firmly back in my daily makeup bag thanks to its softer, less orangey tone. When I’m in a rush I sweep a little of this onto all of those spots you naturally catch the sun; cheekbones, forehead and nose, for a natural glow.

Eyeliner – One of those little things I cannot possibly leave the house without! I have Benefit’s Bad Gal liner in my life for over a decade now and it will always, without a doubt, have a home in my makeup bag!

Eyelash Curlers – Or the eyelash torture device as many people see them! When you haven’t got time to create an amazing doe-eye look through the power of multiple eyeshadows, simply curl for a few seconds for an instantly more wide awake look. Mine are from Boots No7 and for me they always do the trick.

Mascara – I always feel that mascara makes any makeup look look more polished, no matter how much time or effort has gone into creating it. I love this mascara from Laura Mercier because it holds a curl, it doesn’t irritate my eyes and it doesn’t flake either. Perfect.

So there you have it, those little essentials that I always reach for when I’m in a rush, which items do you reach for when you’re in a rush? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
