My Holiday Essentials

This year, instead of chaotically throwing everything I own into a massive heap on the bed as my preparation for packing myself up for my summer jaunt to the continent, I actually took a bit of time out to think about what I wanted to take with me and as we had agreed to travel light (I.e. share a suitcase) thought long and hard about what my essential items were…

First up, Bronzer. Ideally of course I would like to take my full beauty arsenal with me on holiday, but that physically isn’t possible if I also want to be able to take any clothes with me. On holiday one of the most important products to have with me is of course bronzer, I always use a good SPF on my face (nobody has time for a burnt nose) so it does end up a lot paler than the rest of me and I find that Hoola gives me the nicest, natural glow.

Another makeup must have is a bright lippie like this Luster one from Illamasqua. I tend to apply my Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm and then layer some colour over the top, this protects my lips, keeps them hydrated but lets me have a little colour too!

Possibly the most important holiday essential is SPF and for me the brand of choice is Haiwaiian Tropic, their products just scream summer to me. I struggle with some cream based SPF’s as they clog my pores and irritate my skin but the Hawaiian Tropic oils are perfect for me. Their light formula is kind, yet protecting, for the skin and to top it off they smell amazing. It’s like summer in a bottle!

In summer I live in my flip flops anyway and over the years I have had a few pairs but none I love as much as my Havaianas. They are so comfortable and really hard wearing too, I seriously couldn’t go on a summer holiday without them these days as they are perfect for the beach, sight-seeing and even for a casual meal during the day!

Last up is nail polish. This year I’ve gone for this baby pink Nails Inc Chiltern Street gel polish. I don’t wear nail polish regularly so when I don it always makes me feel instantly more feminine. This shade is very fresh, very understated and will (hopefully) go with anything and everything I have in my suitcase as it is fairly neutral.

So there you have it. I’m sure you have read this thought about what you would take with you as your essentials, if you have please do let me know below as I love hearing from you and I will catch up with you again on Tuesday evening, until then though x
