My Product Tests – Bourjois Colorband & Colorboost

Anything that can make getting up for work in the morning a quicker, easier and less painful process is always something that I am happy to try. In the past eyeshadow pencils are never something that I have got on particularly well with. However, Bourjois seem to be on a roll at the moment so I thought I would give Colorband a go.

Bourjois Colorband is a collection of six eyeshadow pencils that allow you to build subtle, shimmery colour in an instant and blend the colours to create your own unique look. I opted for the lilac Mauve Baroque and the golden Beige Minimaliste.

They work together perfectly when blended and equally well on their own as an opaque wash of colour over the lids or built up to a more solid colour. I have particularly oily lids and in all honesty unless I pair these with a primer they don’t stand a chance of lasting. But they don’t feel heavy or cakey on the lids which is always a bonus and something I have disliked about other shadow pencils. They also glide on easily and don’t tug and drag the skin as you apply them.

Color Boost was 100% an impulse purchase as there was a 3-for-2 on in Boots and it caught my eye thanks to the imagery on the stand.

The new Color Boost lip crayons feature silk extract and SPF 15 which make them nourishing, protecting and perfect for the impending summer months. The subtle colour and shine makes them very versatile and wearable day and night. Proudly Naked leaves a hint or a rosy glow on the lips along with a huge injection of moisture and gloss that isn’t heavy or sticky.

Overall I have been really impressed with these products, they’re not amazing but better than their price tag suggests.

Color Boost Lip Crayons are £7.99 and Colorband Eyeshadow Crayons are £5.99.
