If there is one area of my face I neglect when getting ready on a morning it is usually my lips, however, I love a good lip gloss and always have 3 or 4 in my bag for the above reason! So when I recently received a lovely little sample of the ModelCo® Lip Lacquer in my September Birchbox I was excited to say the least…
At this time of year the elements start to take their toll on our skin and our lips can sometimes take a real hammering, becoming dry, flaky and worse of all cracked. A good lippy can help prevent all of those issues.
Last week I tried out the ModelCo Lip Lacquer in Viva, a gorgeous and soft rose pink gloss, whilst away in Wales. It was a good time to test its staying power out.
First of all, the colour. The one thing I often dislike about glosses is that the colour you buy isn’t always the colour you see on your lips and that they are too just translucent. This product is uber pigmented and I was really impressed with the look of the gloss on the lips. It provided enough coverage without looking too heavy, hid any slight imperfections leaving my lips looking smooth and the soft rose-pink was perfect for my countryside getaway.
It was nice and easy to apply and comfortable to wear, it didn’t feel as though it was smothering my lips, sticky or gloopy. ModelCo claim it will add a luxe touch to any look and I would certainly agree with them.
Finally staying power. I wore this on an afternoon out to the coast during my break and it survived a good few hours without being topped up which included having a drink and a good walk along the seafront. It didn’t survive my meal but there aren’t many glosses that can. It definitely created a barrier between my lips and the harsh sea air and even undid some of the existing damage, leaving them feel hydrated and nourished.
I will definitely be adding this to my daily collection of glosses and purchasing it and feel it is easily worth the £15 price tag. ModelCo Lip Lacquer Lip Gloss in Viva is available from the Birchbox shop.
