My Product Tests – Premae Mild Pro Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub

I’m always searching for products that will make my skin softer, smoother & brighter (aren’t we all) and this month tried out Premae’s Face & Body Scrub thanks to my September Birchbox…

Premae’s Mild Pro Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub is described as a ‘skin-loving’ scrub that is excellent for the treatment of blemishes, clogged pores and generally dull skin. Recently I’ve found that my skin as become really dull and dry thanks to the turn of the season and despite being a loyal fan of Soap & Glory’s Flake Away (which I will be reviewing shortly as part of ‘My Favourite…’ series) I was excited to try out an alternative product.

I must admit that I did quite like the creamy texture and the Olive granules felt much less abrasive than others that contain sand, salt or sugar grains, so much so that I was worried it would make any difference to the texture of my skin. However, the scent made me think more hardware store than beauty hall as it made me think of PVA glue more than anything else so I really didn’t enjoy using it, especially on my face! Another downside for me was that the Premae scrub seemed a little to water soluble as well and I needed to use quite a lot more than other scrubs to treat the same area.

The results? A little inconsistent, despite being advertised as a Face & Body scrub I found that it left my face really dried out and tired looking so I had to drench it in a few layers of moisturiser to perk it up a little. But, it seemed to do exactly as it claimed everywhere else. My upper arms are always a problem area for me and lately the decollatge as well, both of these now feel and look much smoother and softer than they did before.

Despite the downsides to this product I can see why some people rave about this product and the vegan friendly formula will have no doubt won it countless fans,  unfortunately I don’t think this is a product that will tempt me away from Flake Away.

The Premae Mild Pro Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub (100ml) is available to buy from the Birchbox shop for £25.00 + shipping.
