I really like BB creams and I tend to use one most days for work as opposed to foundation because I like the coverage and feel of them. The only downside is that they can at times make my skin look a little oily. I’d heard of Rimmel’s Matte BB Cream and recently thanks to Glossybox I got to try it out.
So what do Rimmel claim that their ‘skin perfecting super makeup’ will do? As with other beauty balms it is claimed that it will minimise the appearance of pores, prevent blemishes and conceal dark circles. In addition to this, thanks to it’s matte formula, it is said to mattify and control shine all day.
I wore this in my Christmas Jumper look that I posted on Monday and I have so say I have been really impressed. Although I love using Beauty Balms for daily wear, the oily look I come home with is always a little disappointing. This cream goes on easily and you only need to use a small amount to get fantastic coverage. It leaves the skin looking and feeling smooth and soft, lasts all day and doesn’t breakdown into an oily mess. The colour light is perfect for my skin at the moment as I’m a little paler than normal but I would probably step up to medium in the summer.
Overall I’d say that this is a very good alternative to wearing full foundation everyday, it gives fantastic coverage does exactly what it claims. At just £6.99 I think this is a bit of a bargain and is definitely giving Dr Jarts BB cream a run the top space on my shelf. I’d definitely recommend giving this a try.
