My Smoothie Sundays – Part One

I thought it was about time that I did another foodie post on here! Seen as I got my smoothie make a few months ago now and have got into making them on a daily basis I also thought that I would give you two different options to start off with.

Both of these recipes have come from Lucy Mecklenburgh’s ‘Be Body Beautiful’ book which is packed full of recipes to help you feel happier and healthier. The first is the ‘Green Goddess Smoothie’ which helps to cleanse the body of toxins and also rehydrate. For this one you will need…

1 Banana

1 Handful Spinach Leaves

1 Tsp Spirulina Powder

Flesh of 1/2 an Avocado

1 Tsp Honey

500ml Water

Once blended you would never guess what is inside this super smoothie and the honey helps to add a natural sweetness and palatable flavour to it.

Next up is the ‘Malibu Beach Smoothie’ which is little Pina Colada-esque but much healthier and nutritious. Simply blend up the following for a tropical boost during the day…

1 Banana

1/2 Cup Pineapple Chunks

1/2 Cup Coconut Milk

1/2 Cup Coconut Water

Of the two this is definitely the easiest to drink and is naturally sweet so there’s no need for added flavourings.
