My Threads, Treads & Treats | September ’17

It is now officially Autumn and as the leaves begin to fall, the temperatures plummet and we start to don our layers and coats once again – I’m still sat here not ready or willing to say goodbye to Summer. Don’t get me wrong, I love Autumn, but there is still so much of Summer I haven’t experienced.

I was hoping that we would get a warm and sunny September this year and that we would be able to get a few afternoons or evenings where we could head to our favourite pub for a few meals or even just drinks. But alas I think we got one good day and I’ve spent most of the month in denial that Summer has passed us by for another year.

In comparison to August, this month has been really quiet – I’ve not really been on any big adventures, nor have I celebrated anything in particular. This Saturday is the #BloggersBlogAwards though and I am so excited to catch up with some of the fantastic guys and gals that I met this time last year, to celebrate their achievements and maybe even indulge in a slice of pizza or two too!

I absolutely love the #BloggersBlogAwards as I think that they encapsulate everything that is good and right about the blogging community and I think that Hayley does an amazing job of organising the event every year.

I knew that August would take a lot of beating on the blogging front and whilst I don’t want to say this month has been an anti-climax (I mean it’s not over yet is it), this months Threads, Treads & Treats have been harder to pick out!

THREADS … So you remember those Superdry skirts that I raved about last month? Well I might have been living in them again this month too! Turns out they’re a great transitional piece when teamed with a sweater which has made them perfect for those cooler days we’ve been having.

I can’t wait to start teaming them with tights and boots though I must admit!!!

TREADS … Last weekend I finally tried out the wonderful Ham & Friends in Leeds with the lovely Luke Christian for cocktails and I must say that sipping their ‘Coffee & Port’ cocktail was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I really want to start trying out more independent places in the city and hopefully find a few hidden gems over the coming months.

Perhaps that’s how I’ll survive Winter, I’ll eat & drink my way through it!

TREATS … If you follow me over on Instagram you may have seen that I have finally allowed myself to regress back to my childhood and buy a Crosley Cruiser Turntable! When I was little my dad and I would often visit a record store on a Saturday morning, spend a little time flicking through the vinyls on offer and pick up some new ‘tunes’ before heading home.

Having a turntable again has enabled me to revisit this part of my childhood and I’ve already started to build up a nice little collection with my favourites being Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours LP and Paramore’s After Laughter.

I’m really looking forward to (hopefully) putting together some more seasonal content over the next few weeks and finally getting some regular content up on my YouTube channel too … let me know if there is anything that you would like to see from me on there!

What have your highlights been this month?
Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
