My Winter Style Picks

Suddenly over the past few days the Arctic chill that we all associate with UK Winter time has taken hold of our weather front and many of us have seen the first snowfall of the season. My style always evolves over Winter, it has to of course, but with this in mind I thought I’d share some of my favourite pieces for Autumn/ Winter 2015…

Let’s start with makeup. This week was very momentous for me because I finally embraced the world of Charlotte Tilbury and added a few items to my mobile arsenal thanks to a little John Lewis voucher I had burning a hole in my pocket! However, the lipstick I wanted most (Bond Girl) was out of stock and so I went for Love Liberty Matte Revolution Lipstick and Crazy In Love Lip Cheat Pencil instead. However, that said I do still really want the Bond Girl shade in my life as it just so natural looking and a really sophisticated shade.

Moving onto the clothes, things seemingly get a little bit monochrome in my wardrobe at this time of year, I don’t know why but I just like the comfort of grey scale when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

One thing that I always have in my wardrobe at this time of year is a pair of little black booties. Personally I think these little fringed beauties are totally to die for as they have the perfect height heel for me, are suede which is my favourite (if not a little inappropriate for the time of year) material and also the pointed toe is a huge draw to me as it make my dainty little feet look a little bit less stumpy! You can pick these up in Next for the not so bank breaking cost of £68.

Two things that every wardrobe should have in it for this time of year are a good Winter coat and a nice chunky roll neck jumper. The one I have is a few years old now and was from the now defunct Republic but this one from Next is a gorgeous style and fit too. At £90 it may seem a little on the expensive side but it is definitely a good investment piece for future seasons thanks to its timeless style. Also Next are a great place to pick up Roll Neck jumpers too, this Funnel Neck one is £22 and is guaranteed to be soft, snuggly and stay around for years to come.

Just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean you have to pack away your skirts. Pull on a pair of thick black tights and let your inner rock chick out with this A-Line Leather-esques skirt. Again from Next (no this post isn’t sponsored, they just have an awesome collection out at the moment) this will easily be wearable into Springtime and worth the £25 price tag.

Finally accessories and no Winter style post would be complete without a scarf would it? New Look have a great range of Faux Fur Collars in at the the moment which look just as good with a smart coat for the office, as they do with a leather jacket for a night on the tiles. At just £9.99 it doesn’t really matter if this is a one season wonder or not.

What are your Winter wardrobe staples? Let me know below and I will catch up with you again soon, until then though x
