My Year in Pictures

I can’t believe that today is the last day of 2015, seriously where has the year gone? This year has been filled with lots of living, lots of loving and most importantly lots of laughter too and so, as is becoming tradition, here is my year in my favourite 12 Instagrams…

… I love looking at the 2015 Best Nine posts that are flooding Instagram at the moment and I loved seeing my most popular posts of the year too, but they weren’t my top moments. These are;

January – We had a snowy start to 2015 and on my birthday too. One of my favourite memories of January was coming home from work and playing in the snow with the neighbours and making Snow Angels on the front lawn. 30 going on 3…

February – A close friend’s big birthday, a guy who has brought a lot of us together and organised more that the occasional meet up. A group of us headed to the amazing Fazendas in Leeds for all we could eat steak and a couple of cocktails and a few (happy) tears.

March – One of the standout moments from my lifetime, the Solar Eclipse. Being a weekday I was in the office, but I decided to take a late breakfast, head outside and sit and watch the magical moment the sun disappeared behind the moon (and clouds). A moment I will never forget.

April – As has become tradition over the last few years, on Easter Sunday we headed up into North Yorkshire to a fundraiser for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The event is organised by Specialist Cars of Malton and attracts petrol nuts from across to country, it’s always a good drive out and opportunity to catch up with friends.

May – The first wedding of the year in Knaresborough and a chance for Paul & I to let our hair down a little. I did a GRWM for this look and I absolutely loved the simple makeup I wore on the night.

June – New card day! Paul picked up his new motor in June and as it was a Friday night, we took to the roads and headed out for a drive and ended up in York for tea. It was a lovely evening and getting to eat at one of our favourite restaurants (Akbars) was a really nice way to round it off.

July – Another visit to York and the most amazing Afternoon Tea experience at The Grand Hotel. The whole afternoon was wonderful; the food and service was second to none, we enjoyed a walk on the walls and cocktails in the hotel bar.

August – Probably my standout week of the year, our visit to Sorrento. The Amalfi coastline is one of the most breathtaking places I have visited with its winding roads, clifftop towns and glittering blue seas. Plus I got to wear this gorgeous Blonde & Wise dress to our friends’ wedding in the sun, probably the only time I will get slightly sunburnt at a wedding!

September – One thing that Paul & I wanted to do this Autumn was get out and about a little more and we started that by investing in a National Trust membership. Fountains Abbey is somewhere that we have always wanted to visit but have never got around to going. Being a National Trust site it was top of our list and we were so glad we went. It was a gorgeous day in late September and we had a wonderful day out.

October – As those of you regular readers will already know, I am a big fan of Rugby League and I couldn’t let a review of my year go without at least one rugby related post being included. A Leeds girl born and bred, this year has been amazing and I have been lucky enough to see my team pretty much clean up in the trophy stakes.

November – Something that we had never really thought about too much was doing a day at the races, but when the opportunity arose to attend the Bet 365 festival in November we jumped at the chance and it was a great day with winners and losers, a few drinks and ultimately lots of laughs.

December – Christmas, it has to be really doesn’t it! After weeks and weeks of festivities in run up it was nice to have a sit back, relax and eat a ton of Celebrations whilst watching Blacklist snuggles up with Paul. The perfect end to a wonderful year.

So that’s what you have to beat 2016, think you can take on the challenge?

Happy New Year to all of you wonderful people reading this, you really do make this worthwhile and without you, well I probably wouldn’t be writing this I guess. Let me know the highlight of your year below and I’ll catch up with you again tomorrow, until then though x
