Seven Days in the Sun

I love being able to dress up! That might sound like a weird thing to say, but I don’t feel as though I get to express myself through what I choose to wear in the office very much and so downtime is my time to shine.

I spend the majority of my life in trousers, mainly because I very rarely have the confidence to strut my stuff in a pair of shorts in the UK. I feel too pale, too self conscious about my height/ size/ age…

But when I’m on my jolly holidays I love to crack out my legs and scare the locals!

Although most of us are looking forward to trimming up at the moment, I am all to aware that a few people are only just jetting off in search of a little Sun and with that in mind here are a few essential items for ‘Seven Days in the Sun’.

THE BANDEAU TOPUntil this year this isn’t something that I have ever owned (I’ve clearly lived a sheltered life) but in all honesty I haven’t ever had the confidence to wear one before I either. I love showing my shoulders off though as and this one from Superdry (similar here on asos) really hit the spot.

THE OFF SHOULDER DRESS Off the shoulder dresses are just so sexy don’t you think and as well as looking great on holiday they’r perfect for party season too as the latest collection from Boohoo proves. Another of my favourite Superdry purchases, this nautical strip skater will be coming into Winter with me too!

THE CLUTCHBecause lets face it, life isn’t complete without a good clutch bag is it?! This one of mine was from Next a few years ago now and has travelled the world with me and I’ll be devastated when the time comes for us to part. But if you’re looking for a new clutch for party season check out this Lipsy number on the Next website. So pretty.

THE PLAYSUIT | I picked up this little asos number earlier in the year and I am so glad that I did as it has proved to be well worth it! Although this little lovely is no linger available asos have some fantastic (and bargain) options available at the moment!

THE HEELS At the start of Summer I decided that this was the year I needed to add a pair of espadrille wedges to mu wardrobe, which I did when I visited London in July and picked up these tanned goddesses from Superdry. They are the only heels I can wear all day and stay pain free. Although Summer is well and truly behind us in the UK you can still add a pair to your wardrobe thanks to this peachy paid from asos.

THE STATEMENT DRESS I love dresses and outfits that allow me to blend in a little, ones that make me look part of the crowd as opposed to standing out from it! I was surprised that I fell in love with this bold Happy Chelsea dress from Superdry last Summer but it is such a pretty cut and so bright and colourful I just had to have it. Bold prints are a great way to express your personality and Boohoo have some perfect ones for the festive month ahead!

What are your Summer wardrobe essentials? What are you adding to your party season wardrobe this year? Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
