The Selfridges Beauty Box

I‘ll set the scene for you. It’s Friday afternoon in the office, the mood is high and we’re counting down the minutes to the weekend. A chance look at my Twitter account leads me to see a post by Helen over at The Love Cats Inc regarding the Selfridges Beauty Box… Woah rewind, Selfridges do a beauty box?

Yes, yes they do and it is far better than your average box! I bought my box online and chose to pick it up the next day from Selfridges at The Trafford Centre in Manchester saving myself the £4.95 delivery charge and meaning I didn’t have to wait long for my goodies.

The box itself is £40 which, ok is more expensive than some of your other boxes, but this is well worth every penny. The one thing that really attracts me to this box is that it isn’t a monthly subscription, you know what you’re getting and best of all it’s product that you know and trust. Their summer box houses £176 of beauty essentials that are perfect for your holidays, your handbag and everyday wear.

Lets take a better look at the 13 products that you will find tied up by your sunshine ribbon…

EYEKO Fat Eyeliner – I have never been a massive liquid liner fan but oh my word this is seriously loveable! I tried this out earlier this week and it lasted a full day in the office and an evening of shopping & Sushi-ing without fading, smudging or cracking. It’s very easy to use and looks great. Big fan of this now.

UD De-Slick Spray – I can have very oily skin, particularly in the warmer months and this definitely helps. In particular I love that this is a smaller bottle that is better for travelling as opposed to my now ancient bottle of de-slick that I have on my shelf. A quick spritz before your foundation will help keep things in place all day and I find this is also good for dampening your beuty blender and setting concealer in place too!

ILLAMASQUA Luster Lipstick – It’s Illamasqua, its lipstick and it’s bright pink… need I say more?

NARS Orgasm Lipgloss – My all time favourite gloss, it looks great on it’s own or over a lip colour. It’s not tacky or drying on the lips and feels very hydrating.

NAILS INC Gel Varnish – This Chiltern Street Pink Polish is definitely the shade I have been looking for for my holidays and although I haven’t tried this yet, I have heard good things about it’s lasting power on the nails.

TANGLE TEASER – I love my Tangle Teaser, but it lives in my handbag for on-the-go tangle removal and so when I do my hair at home I normally reach for a comb instead of going to get it. I think Tangle Teasers are like the Marmite of the hair world, you either love them or loathe them, but I think they’re great and literally have very little need for anything else these days now I have 2!

RIBBAND Sorbet Hair Ties – Another product I haven’t yet tried but very much looking forward to are these ties, they are supposed to minimise snagging and damage thanks to their silky soft material.

I haven’t used any of the skincare items yet but here’s a breakdown of what you get …

CAUDELIE Grape Water – a moisturising mist for all skin types.

RODIAL Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel – an anti-ageing treatment to help plump up the skin and define contours.

JAMES READ Day Tan SPF 15 – a gradual self tan for the face that delivers hydration & protection at the same time, this will definitely be in my suitcase this summer!

CLARINS Eau des Jardins Smoothing Body Cream – a moisture rich body cream enriched with blackcurrant to soothe the skin and a fresh, zesty scent.

STARSKIN Instaglam Foam Peel Puff – a deep cleaning puff that will rid the skin of dead skin cells leaving it bright and radiant.

STARSKIN After Party Brightening Mask – a coconut mask that will help to revitalise tired skin, leaving it picture perfect in just 20 minutes.

All of the product are presented in a canvas beach clutch that will be poolside with me in a few weeks time for sure and you also get a £10 Nails Inc voucher too! I think Mr Selfridge would be very impressed by the concept!

I will definitely be keeping an eye for more of these in future, they offer fantastic value and I think this selection of products is perfect for summer. Have you bought the Selfridge’s Summer Beauty Box? Let me know below along and I look forward to catching you again soon, until then though x
