In a change to tonights scheduled post I would like to bring you one that popped into my head during my journey home from work yesterday. On the whole I like to think that I am quite a cool, calm and collected person but there are just some things that make me go grr.
Most of the things that make me go ‘grr’ and lose my shiz are driving related.
Things like cars that drive through a 30mph village at 35mph and then proceed to drive through the adjoining 40mph zone at 35mph too. A lot of mph’s there but I know that other drivers out there feel my pain too right?
As The Last Leg guys would say “don’t be a dick”.
Another motoring bug bear is another speed (or lack of) related one and it is when people dawdle at 25mph (we are in a 30 zone here lovelies, setting the scene now) and then who proceed to brake at every slight kink in the road as though they are driving a Ferrari around Silverstone. Then to add insult to injury when the road widens to a dual carriageway they pull straight into the overtaking lane.
Also why is it that retired people (totally not being ageist here, my mum is retired and thankfully does not do this or else we would be having words) feel the need to go shopping on a Saturday morning? I mean come on, I have 48 hours to do get all my adulting done and queuing behind 2-3 OAPs in the supermarket with their handfuls of vouchers is not helping to reduce my todo list.
You have all week to go to the shops, Saturday is my day ok?
I do hope that this post doesn’t come across as insensitive, at the end of the day it is just my opinion and I know that some people out there will disagree with my opinion but that doesn’t mean that it is wrong.
Which brings me onto one of the things most likely to make me go grr – being told that my opinion is the wrong opinion. Wrongly or rightly I tend to keep my opinions to myself online when it comes to controversial subjects simply because I cannot be bother with the backlash of people who disagree with me. Don’t get me wrong I am all for an intelligent debate and exchange, however, when all people want to do is ram their opinion down my throat and tell me how I should feel and how I should live my life, well I ain’t got no time for that shiz.
There are only a handful of things that make me go grr, but I guess the moral of this post is something that I saw the incredible Vix Meldrew post online the other day ‘just do you’. Yes Vix said this in connection to the recent events in London & Manchester but I think it something that we should always bear in mind.
At the end of the day there will always be little things that wind us up – Trump, Spiders, that last drop of Diet Coke that has gone flat – and those things might not wind other people up, but we are all different, we are all individuals and we need to accept that it is these little differences in opinion that make us who we are.
What makes you go grr? Make sure you let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
