For once I feel prepared and non-plussed by the arrival of the finale of yet another month in 2017. August started with a bang and has kept on giving ever since, so this is one edition of Threads, Treads & Treats that I have been really looking forward to writing for you all.
Thinking back to the start of the month, never in my wildest dreams would I have ever come up with just what August had in store for me. I was looking forward to spending a little more time working on content, putting a little more time and effort into ‘The Weekly Edit’ and a few evenings out with friends.
But then on August 2nd as I sat down in front of the TV, still sweaty from the gym, to eat my tea my phone started to go a little crazy. I was home alone and in tears of shock because little old me had been nominated for a Bloggers Blog Award.
So that happened and a few weeks later, as I started to get over the shock of people actually knowing and acknowledging that this site existed, I got a call inviting me to spend the weekend with the lovely guys at Haven Holidays.
So yeah, that happened too. I guess it is a little strange that almost three years into this blogging journey of mine (ugh I’m so cliche aren’t I?) that it still astounds me that people enjoy reading my rambles, but it does. A lot.
I think August will take a lot of beating on the blogging front, it will certainly go down as one of the most memorable I have had as HarmonyBlaze and here are my Threads, Treads & Treats from the month about to pass!
THREADS … Those that follow me over on Instagram may already be sick of the sight of these bargains that I picked up from Superdry in their latest sale. I’m not even sorry that I have been inseparable from them this month.
I’m sure by now you all know that Superdry is one of my favourite brands and these skirts are something that I have always looked at but never really been confident enough to buy. But they’re super flattering, light enough for those hot Summer days (when we get them) and comfortable too.
TREADS … Nothing (this month at least) compares to North Wales & the Snowdonia National Park for me. I never, ever thought that this month would see me taking a dip in the sea off of the Welsh coastline or a lake in the foothills of Mount Snowdon. As with most of my adventures, I’ve already been looking into heading back.
Particularly because I really want to climb Snowdon itself!
TREATS … I’m not really a fan of sweet treats, not anymore any way. As much as I used to be a chocolate fiend, these days I would much rather have a starter than a desert. So when I was invited along for a girly coffee morning in Leeds, I fully intended to just have a coffee and leave the cake to everyone else.
But oh my word, not only was this cake one of the most Instagrammable things I have ever laid eyes on but it tasted fantastic too… at the risk of going all ‘Bake Off on you all, it was a nice moist bake!
What have been your highlights of the last month?
Let me know below and I’ll catch up with you again soon, until then though x
